Communities in Harmony Project 2008

We are a group of inner Sydney city residents working together to create stories, coordinate events, engage local leaders and link communities.Different organisations got together and applied for a Living in Harmony community grant to help us achieve our aims.

Why
· public housing tenants are some of the most marginalised people in our community...
· Develop mentors and leaders to enhance participation in Australian society and contributions to local governance groups. To connect
What
·
Deliver a series of TAFE outreach education courses such as multimedia and creative technologies, performance techniques, mentoring in the community and community organising.
· Creative arts projects that challenge stereotypes and celebrate locals such as Glebe bytes, Telling our Stories and Northcott Harmony Club.
· Public presentations in local centres, schools, libraries and community events
· Education support in computer skills, adult basic education, literacy and future pathways for marginalised
· Develop a community developed wikispace to document the project
